Moyle crime up by a fifth

RECORDED crime in the Moyle area has risen by 20 per cent, a report prepared by Moyle Community Safety Partnership said.

In the 2008-09 financial year there were 773 reported incidents but the figure rose to 933 in 2009-10.

However, Moyle Council’s Community Safety Co-ordinator Bridgeen Butler said the Moyle rise is still slightly less than the average 25 per cent reported crime rise in Northern Ireland.
