Moyle PCSP meeting

The Partnership aims to address issues and concerns that the Moyle community have in relation to crime, anti-social behaviour and Policing. The PCSP will be hosting a public meeting on Thursday 15th November in the Glens Hotel, Cushendall at 8pm and invite members of the public to attend.

At the meeting the Chief Inspector Brenda Cairns from the PSNI will be delivering a six monthly report on crime in the area, highlighting concerns or emerging issues and providing information on how the PSNI is meeting the targets of the Moyle Policing Plan. The meeting will then focus on agri/rural crime and farm safety as this has been identified as a key concern for local people.

Representatives from PSNI, Ulster Farmers Union, Northern Ireland Health & Safety Executive and the Glen Young Farmers Club willprovide information and advice from their particular areas of expertise and to respond to any questions or queries that the audience may have in relation to this topic.

The PCSP is made up of elected representatives, independent Members and representatives from statutory agencies and you will have a local contact based in your area.

The PCSP is a new body with a wide remit. We are aware that there are potentially many issues or concerns the community may have in relation to community safety and policing. It is our intention to take these issues on board and to prepare plans that address these issues. This may take the form of delivering appropriate project, providing platforms for public discussion and challenging where necessary statutory and government policy and actions.

To support us in the development of this plan it is key that all sectors of the community from all areas across Moyle inform us about their concerns, experiences and expectations in relation to Community Safety and Policing in Moyle. To this end the PCSP will be carrying out an extensive consultation to inform our planning and we urge people to engage with this process and have their voices heard.

A variety of opportunities to respond will be available including questionnaires, on line surveys and group based activities. The more comprehensive the information that is acquired at this point will ensure the more focused the PCSP action plan can be to meet and address community needs and concerns in relation to community safety and policing in your sector and in your area.”
