Moyle police notes

OVERNIGHT on Sunday 22nd July damage was caused to a Ford Focus car parked in the driveway of a house in the Altananam area of Ballycastle. Three wipers and the aerial were pulled off. Enquiries ongoing.

Following a police search of a dwelling in the Quay Road area of Ballycastle, a 30-year-old male from that address was arrested on suspicion of Possession of Class B Drugs. The male was further arrested on Friday 27th July for failing to answer bail. He was released pending report to the PPS.

On Tuesday 24th July a 20-year-old Ballycastle male was arrested on Ramoan Road for non-payment of money warrants.

On Tuesday 24th July a 17-year-old male youth with an address in Antrim, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated taking and driving away a motor vehicle, driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs, going equipped to steal, following his attempt to steal a motor vehicle in Market Street, Ballycastle. The male crashed the vehicle a short distance away and was detained by members of the public until police arrived. Whilst in police custody the male youth was further arrested on suspicion of common assault, obstructing police and criminal damage. He was charged with all offences and appeared at North Antrim Magistrates Court on Wednesday 25th July.

On Tuesday 24th July, a 24-year-old male with a Ballycastle address, was arrested at Moyle Road on suspicion of obstructing police and resisting arrest. He was released pending report to the PPS.

Between 9.30 pm on Tuesday 24th July and 9 am on Wednesday 25th July, damage was caused to the window of commerial premises on Ramoan Road, Ballycastle. It is believed a stone thrown by unknown person(s) caused the damage.

On Thursday 26th July a 40-year-old female was arrested in the Waterfoot area on suspicion of Common Assault, Criminal Damage, Theft and Threats to Kill following allegations received by police of an incident in a public house in the area on Tuesday 24th July. The female has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

In the early hours of Saturday 28th July, following a report received by police of a suspect drunk driver on Castlecatt Road, Bushmills, a 48-year-old male with an address in Cookstown, was arrested on suspicion of Driving Whilst Unfit. He has been charged to appear at North Antim Magistrates’ Court on 24th August.
