MP backs fight against cancer

North Belfast MP Nigel Dodds has reiterated his support for improving services and support to those suffering from caner.

In Westminster last week, the DUP man joined with representatives from Melanoma UK, Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation and the James Whale Fund for Kidney Cancer to sign a pledge of support in the battle against cancer.

Speaking at the event, Mr Dodds said: “North Belfast continues to suffer from high rates of cancer and it is essential that we do all that we can to improve treatment and support services available to those suffering from these terrible illnesses.

“I pledge to continue to work with both the Health Minister in the Northern Ireland Executive and in London to promote efforts to find a cure to these illnesses and to ensure a world class care system for all those facing such difficult circumstances.”
