MP wants Larne ‘Bike It’ funding

East Antrim MP Sammy Wilson has given his support to Sustrans, a campaigning group which aims to encourage more people to travel to work and school by bike, on foot or on public transport.

He says that children in the Larne area are currently not able to benefit from Sustrans’ Bike It project and has sought the assistance of Danny Kennedy, the DRD Minister.

“I have asked him to look into this to ensure that funding is made available so that children in Larne can be part of this programme and reap the benefits, including saving money, reducing congestion and important health benefits, especially for children” said Mr Wilson.

He urged people to visit www.sustrans.org.uk “and see for themselves the options”.
