MP welcomes creative hub

THE announcement that the old Bleary school site is to be transformed into a £350k creative hub has been welcomed by Upper Bann MP David Simpson.

The development was announced last week after months of work by Craigavon Borough Council to secure the funding.

David Simpson MP said: “This is something that I as MP have lobbied extensively for over my term in office and I am delighted that Council have taken up the challenge, applied for funding and have been granted £350,000 to make a real and tangible change to the Old Bleary Primary School building.

“It will create a much needed community facility in this rural setting and will complement the new Primary School which was built some 15 years ago.”

Mr Simpson continued: “Bleary has been bereft of community facilities for a long number of years therefore this is very much a win for the local community and I look forward to the transformation of this old building that in years gone by provided great opportunities for children and young people but unfortunately for many years it has lay vacant and unused.

“There is great potential for this space and I know that the people of Bleary will be delighted.”
