MP welcomes Foyle Meats jobs' salvation

Mr Durkan said: "Given the very real concerns when the company announced last week that there were 85 jobs under threat there will be some relief locally that half of these jobs can now be saved.

"However, this will still come as a big blow to those workers and their families who will be losing their jobs.

"Everyone will appreciate the anxiety they are currently going through.

"I have been pressing this issue with the company.

"It is important that all relevant agencies become involved in order to ensure they are made aware of all their rights and entitlements at what will be a time of great uncertainty."
