MTV tickets on sale this weekend

Tickets for next month’s MTV Crashes event at Ebrington will go on sale this weekend. They will be available from 9am on Saturday online via Ticketmaster and at the two local Ticketmaster outlets at Foyleside Shopping Centre and Cool Discs on Foyle Street.

There will be 10,000 tickets available for each night and they will be priced at £5 plus £1.00 service charge for the MTV Crashes Derry-Londonderry show and £10 plus £1.00 service charge for the Club MTV night. Under-16s must be accompanied by an adult and a maximum of four tickets per person will be allocated for each event.

Please note that there will not be any tickets available via Ticketmaster’s call centre numbers. Tickets will only be available through the 2 local outlets and via www.ticketmaster.ie. Tickets bought on the Ticketmaster website will be delivered via a Print At Home ticket.

For the MTV Crashes live show there will be 3 separate ringfenced allocations to ensure fair access to tickets and fans should ensure that they select the allocation that applies to them from the Ticketmaster website.

1: BT47 & BT48 Postcodes – If your billing address falls into this category you should request tickets from this allocation.

2: All other Northern Ireland postcodes except BT47 & BT48 – if you live in Northern Ireland and your postcode isn’t BT47 or BT48 select this allocation.

3: Rest of World – Anyone with a billing address outside Northern Ireland should request tickets from this allocation.

Details of the music acts performing across the weekend of September 19-21 are expected to be confirmed shortly.

August 28 has been confirmed as the date for a free one-day MTV workshop taking place at Derry’s Nerve Centre. MTV executives, Virginia Monaghan, the Vice President of Music Commissioning and Content and Beth Garrod, Director of International Social Responsibility, will be guest speakers, along with input from local experts. The Academy is open to young people between the ages of 16 and 25; places are limited and will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. Mayor Cllr Brenda Stevenson said there was huge excitement in the city since the MTV Crashes announcement. Encouraging the public to get their tickets, she said she was confident the gigs would sell out fast.

“Everyone is talking about MTV and looking forward to attending another hugely successful music festival at Ebrington Square. It’s a fantastic coup for the city and a great opportunity to showcase our facilities and continue with the legacy of Music City 2014,” she said.
