This festival was funded under the European Union’s PEACE III Programme which is managed on behalf of the Special EU Programmes Body by the North East PEACE III Partnership.

The evening programme and children’s workshops were enjoyed by over 300 participants. Over sixty children learned about craft, dance and culture from both here and around the world. The children made Chinese and Indian crafts, learnt how to play the tin whistle and participated in Chinese martial arts and dragon dancing.

Adults participated in an engaging interactive film evening of the ‘Tapestry of Colours’ attended by the film maker herself, Zhenia Mahdi-Nau. This film explored the experiences of the multi cultural community in Northern Ireland. On Thursday the Craiganee Scottish Ceilidh dance group lead an upbeat and interactive evening which culminated in everyone dancing along with the talented African Drummer Wilson and his band, a night of memories! Friday saw bouncy castles, Irish dancers, Ulster-Scots poetry, singing and a display of vintage vehicles.
