Music and movement for young children

THIS weekend sees in the Chinese New Year and children at Music and Movement in Ballycastle have celebrated with a colourful dancing dragon.

‘The children love all sorts of musical activities and songs. In the class we use dance ribbons, voiles and their favourite is the play parachute,’ says Music and Movement tutor Deirdre Goodlad.

Since starting in Ballycastle in September, Music and Movement has become a popular Friday activity for parents and carers with young babies and children. ‘Everyone is welcome. It’s friendly and it is great fun. Music and dance play a huge part in culture all over the world so it’s great to take this opportunity to enjoy the traditional dragon with the children.’
