Musical Society are honoured by NODA

Banbridge Musical Society has been honoured by the National Operatic and Dramatic Association (NODA) for their May 2013 production ‘Me and My Girl’.

The regional adjudicator for NODA, Shelia Hobart, recommended the association to include Banbridge Musical Society in the northern region’s nomination programme.

Chairperson Rosemary Kelly was “delighted” to announce the nominations at last week’s rehearsal. The society where nominated for Best Technical and Staging award, Best Individual Performance (Rosemary Kelly) for her performance as the Duchess of Dene and Best Overall Show.

“This is a tremendous honour for the society and makes all the long intensive hours of rehearsal worthwhile,” she said. “We really enjoy what we do and this is just the icing on the cake. We in Banbridge Musical Society strive to bring a high level of entertainment to all our patrons and audience members. We appreciate their loyalty and support and could not possibility function without them.”

Rosemary also paid tribute to the production team and technical crew. When asked about her personal nomination she said she was “thrilled to be nominated especially as I thoroughly enjoyed playing such an old battleaxe as the Duchess of Dene. It’s a dream of a part.”

Banbridge Musical Society’s forthcoming production ‘Titanic Serenade’ will be staged in the Iveagh Movie Studio from Tuesday May 13 to Saturday May 17. Performances start at 7.30pm each evening with a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm. Tickets can be purchased from the Iveagh Movie Studios on 028 4066 2666.
