Musical virtuosos from Londonderry and Limavady are recognised
Bláithín Kerr (oboe) from Lumen Christi College in Londonderry; Rhiannon Darragh (violin) from Bready Jubilee Primary School in the wider Strabane area; Tyler Buchanan (euphonium) from Omagh Academy Grammar School; Andrew Ross (clarinet) from St Columb’s College in Londonderry; and Lucy Mills (trombone) from Collegiate Grannar School in Enniskillen were the performing soloists who gave outstanding performances to a packed theatre.
They were accompanied on the piano by Marie Batchelor, all displaying exemplary levels of musicianship and technical virtuosity. WELB Omagh Junior and Intermediate wind bands entertained the audience with classics such as Yellow Bird and film music from Skyfall.

Hide AdBarry Mulholland, WELB Chief Executive and WELB Head of Music Service Donal Doherty presented awards to over 30 high achieving exam pupils from the past academic year. They thanked the parents, pupils and tutors for their support and work throughout the year.
WELB Folk and Traditional Group concluded the concert with an enthusiastic medley of Irish Folk music to give the evening a rousing finale.
The Music Service was delighted with the appreciative response and support.
A pupil from Strabane - Eimear Callan (Cornet) who attends Holy Cross College - also received an award at the WELB musical celebration.
