My favourite day out

MY boss asked me to think about my favourite day out in Lurgan. As I'm sure for most women, I haven't had to think very hard about my favourite day out, it would be one of pampering, shopping and eating without the constant yapping of my partner behind me.

My day would start with a nice lie in, followed by a large cup of tea and breakfast in bed provided by the yapping partner. I would leisurely get ready then drive to Lurgan, of course singing along the way while contemplating my luxurious day ahead.

My first stop would be Take 30 women's gym, I find a workout in the morning really gets you motivated and in a good mood. With Take 30's new power plate you can have a full body work-out in just 25 minutes helping you tone up and lose weight. When you are spending the rest of the day in town this is the perfect work-out that won't tire you out, but will give you the results you want.

Stopping for a spot of lunch I would choose The Stables Restaurant, Bar and Off licence. They have a fantastic restaurant with an award winning chef and experienced team cooking up the finest fresh ingredients. Their delicious menu has a variety of meals to suit every taste, the service is great and if you decided to go there for an evening meal instead, you can avail of the weekend entertainment and polish off a few glasses of wine to end your night on a high.

There is nothing like a bit of retail therapy to put a smile on a girl's face and at Houstons my favourite section is Quiz, you can pick up a great bargain while leaving with the perfect outfit and accessories, it really is a shop that suits all ages and has a wide selection of casual and occasion wear. There is a great atmosphere and friendly staff make the experience all the more enjoyable.

With my outfit and accessories bagged up and me feeling rather proud of myself, next stop is at L&N Hair to have my hair washed, cut and styled. L&N Hair are celebrating their first anniversary in their modern salon at Victoria Street. With an extremely friendly and talented team they are sure to be there for many years to come.

To finish off my look and feel even more pampered I would drop into Pin Up Nail Bar and take advantage of their new waxing room and eyelash tinting services. Before I go out for an evening I would feel naked if I didn't have my tan done and for just 15 Pin up do a full body spray tan with body treat products. Feeling like a million dollars already, one more treat I just couldn't resist would be having my nails filed and manicured.

Homeward bound for me to change into my beautiful new outfit then off for an evening meal with my partner. The award winning Planters in Waringstown has a new restaurant manager, Robbie Mulligan (formerly of the Halfway House). The popular Waringstown bar and restaurant also has a new executive chef Conrad Newell who has brought new menus to the ever popular venue. The Planters cater for those couples out for a delicious meal or large parties booking to celebrate a special event. Renowned for big live music events and theme nights with locally known DJ Jimmy C playing music from the best of the 80s/90s and chart hits, this is guaranteed to be a fantastic evening.

It's just a shame this isn't going to happen for real or thinking on the positive side maybe my loved one will read this and take a hint - here's hoping. Cath.
