Mystery surrounds missing letters on Cookstown roundabout sign

The sign, which once said “Cookstown, looking good, looking great” now reads “okstown, good, looking great”.

But the missing letters were not lying in the vicinity of the sign, which suggests whoever knocked them down, took them away with them.

The directional road sign in front of the Cookstown welcome logo also has a large crack down the centre of it, but when asked if the PSNI had received any reports of an accident at the roundabout, a spokesperson said: “There is no record of incidents involving damage to this signage.”
