Nadine Coyle acclaims Yes vote
Londonderry songstress Nadine Coyle has expressed her approval at the result of the recent gay marriage referendum in the Republic of Ireland.
The former Girls Aloud star took to Twitter on the day of the referendum itself urging people to vote Yes to the insertion of a new subsection 4 to Article 41 of the Constitution reading: “Marriage may be contracted in accordance with law by two persons without distinction as to their sex.”
And following the yes vote she tweeted a poster proclaiming: “Congratulations to Ireland for becoming the first nation to vote yes on marriage equality” adding: ‘This makes me very proud to be Irish!”
