Napa High Choirs to visit St Columb's Cathedral in March

One of the top choirs in the USA will visit St Columb's Cathedral in March.

Hailing from California, the Napa High Choirs have a reputation for excellence in local, area, state and international competitions, winning top awards for many years.

This outstanding youth ensemble is directed by Travis Rogers, a past President of the California chapter of the American Choral Directors Association who is recognized nationally and internationally for his excellence in teaching, and by Karen May, who has directed several choir programmes in California following a professional career performing in Europe and North America.

The choir regularly embarks on international tours and has travelled to places including Italy, France, Spain, Costa Rica, Hawaii, Florida and New York City.

They perform as a large concert choir of 95 voices, but also split into smaller ensembles for several pieces.

This year, Napa High Choirs will visit Ireland for the fourth time and will perform a selection of Irish folk songs and sacred pieces in St Columb’s Cathedral in Londonderry as well as venues in Dublin, Belfast and Lisdoonvarna.

The St Columb’s Cathedral visit will take place on Monday, March 21, at 3.15pm.

It is an event not to be missed and entry is free. Donations will be taken up in aid of the Cathedral.
