Natashareceives Gold award from Earl of Wessex

DURING a recent one day visit to Northern Ireland, the Earl of Wessex presented young people from Northern Ireland Cancer Fund for Children with their Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award Certificates, including Natasha Walsh from Lisburn.

Since its introduction in 2005, The Duke of Edinburgh Programme has been a core activity within NICFC’s Youth Programme, offering teenagers and young adults aged 14 – 25 years old the opportunity to complete their Bronze, Silver and Gold Award programmes.

After receiving her certificate from Prince Edward Natasha, who has completed all three stages of the Duke of Edinburgh Award, said: “The Duke of Edinburgh Award was such an amazing experience and I would tell anyone thinking of doing it to go for it. I completed challenges I didn’t even realise I was capable of.
