National Trust to hold family fun day on the walls

Join the National Trust for a fun-filled family activities day on Londonderry’s historic walls on Sunday 3 November from 12.30pm to 4.30pm.

The ‘hub’ for activities will be the charity’s new offices at No. 1 St Columb’s Court and a number of interesting ‘stations’ focusing on wildlife, conservation and living history will be located at various points around the city’s walls (weather permitting). Fun activities will include a Treasure Hunt / Heritage Trail with prizes for all those who successfully complete the trail. Kids can learn how to build a bird’s nest, discover what unusual objects are used for, or dress up in historical costumes.

Mark Lusby, City Walls Heritage Officer will take guided tours of the walls and canon, revealing the history and significance of the walls to the city. Tours will depart from National Trust offices at No. 1 St Columb’s Court on the hour from 1pm to 4 pm. All activities are free.
