National Trust wants to hear your Giant's Causeway stories

GOT something to tell about the Giant's Causeway?

The National Trust want to hear your story.

The charity is appealing to people in the North Coast area who have unique or unusual stories and memories to share.

Two events will be held in the forthcoming weeks to gather the stories. These stories about the Giant's Causeway, Northern Ireland's only World Heritage Site, will then help bring the Causeway experience to life for visitors.

Brona Moffett of the National Trust said: "The Trust is really keen to hear from local people about their stories so that they can help inspire the stories that visitors to the World Heritage Site will hear.

“With over 650,000 visitors to The Giants Causeway and Causeway Coast World Heritage Site each year, these evenings present a great opportunity to shape and inform the stories of the Giant's Causeway.

!Whether from around the corner or across the world, all visitors will be able to enjoy an enriched Causeway experience - and these stories and memories can help shape this."

"We have already undertaken some oral history recordings with support from Heritage Lottery Funds, we want even more. We are really looking forward to opening up the treasure trove of stories that exist locally as the open evenings will help those stories have a voice.”

Two evenings will be held at Dunluce School in Bushmills on Monday, March 15 and Tuesday, March 23 from 7-9pm.
