'Nationalists concerned'
COMMENTING on the statement from the UDA saying that they had decommissioned their weapons North Antrim Sinn Féin MLA Daithí McKay said:
“If this statement is verified by the Independent International Commission on Decommissioning then it is a substantial move forward.
“However nationalists and republicans will remain concerned about the fact that the South East Antrim ‘brigade’ of the UDA is yet to disarm, a group which is active from Belfast to North Antrim.
“If the mainstream UDA statement is verified the South East Antrim wing will be the most significant loyalist group yet to disarm and pressure should be exerted accordingly.”
