Nativity at Tannaghmore

THIS Christmas why not experience something a little bit different and visit the ‘Live Manger’ that will feature at Tannaghmore Animal Farm from Saturday, December 10.

There you will find Jesus, Mary, Joseph and the three Kings in a remake of the world famous stable, complete with donkey, sheep, cows and other animals. Guaranteed to put a smile on your face, this heartwarming nativity display will be shown in a converted outhouse on the farm.

This has been an annual event since 2005 and is one of the most popular displays to be run at Tannaghmore, with people coming from far and wide to see it – particularly because all the animals are rare breeds such as Galway sheep, Irish Molled cows, pygmy goats and a Shetland pony foal.

“Our nativity scene really is something that has to be seen to be believed,” said Ruth Mason, Grounds Maintenance Supervisor at Tannaghmore. “We are always inundated with visitors coming to see the Live Manger as this is what Christmas is all about and is a great way to remind children of the true meaning of it. So come on down and don’t miss out on this wonderful display.”

The Live Manger will be on show every day from Saturday until Christmas Eve. The Farm is open from 10am to 4pm and, as well as visiting the nativity scene, don’t forget to check out the rest of the rare breeds farm, the play park, maze and beautiful gardens.
