Ned Kelly award for author McKinty

A Carrickfergus-born author has scooped Australia’s top prize for crime fiction.

Adrian McKinty won the Ned Kelly Award for best crime novel of the year for his third Sean Duffy novel, ‘In The Morning I’ll Be Gone’.

McKinty, who grew up in the Victoria area of the town and now lives in Melbourne, won critical acclaim for his Duffy series, including ‘The Cold Cold Ground’ and ‘I Hear The Sirens in the Street’.
