New 3G pitches for District

TWO new 3G pitches have been announced for the Dungannon District by the Northern Ireland Assembly Culture Minister Caral Ní Chuilín.

It is believed the all-weather artificial pitches are destined for the Coalisland area.

The minister said that the community facilities will be provided through Sport NI, and will be built before the end of 2014, subject to the applicants meeting the terms and conditions of Sport NI’s Project Management Reports.

UUP Councillor Walter Cuddy said the pitches were good news for the entire community, and provided local clubs with the opportunity to play sport throughout winter. He also announced plans of a new council initiative to work with local schools in opening up their 3G pitches to the wider community.
