Speaking about her new role, Chief Inspector Cairns said she is very much looking forward to getting to know the community and new colleagues, and building on the excellent work and partnerships which already exist.

“Policing has really moved forward in the last number of years and with the introduction of Our Policing Commitments, we are reinforcing at every level the need for a personal, professional and protective service to you, the public.

“There are of course challenges to be faced however our officers are firmly committed to ensuring the safety of you, your family and your neighbours. I look forward to getting to know the Ballymoney and Moyle communities better in the weeks and months ahead.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to pay tribute to the dedicated service provided by Sean Fitzpatrick throughout his time as temporary Area Commander.”
