The youngest member of Moyarget Chosen Few LOL 1196 John McGregor Junior had the honour of unfurling a new banner for the Lodge at the weekend.

John Junior spoke of his honour at being selected for such an occasion and said he would always walk behind it with pride. His father, also John, is a noted authority on the Loyal Orders and has not only written books but has also assisted in recording many of the anniversaries connected with the organisation.

The new banner which depicts the Battle of the Somme, viewed by many as being highly significant in this the 100th year of one of the bloodiest conflicts of World War One, was dedicated by the Rev. John Anderson, minister of Derrykeighan and Billy Parish Churches.

He too spoke of the honour at being asked to perform the ceremony and wished the Lodge every success in the future.

The banner has attracted many favourable comments from fellow Orangemen and followers of the Lodge.
