New boss for local radio station

Local man Paul is now the new owner and showcasing local talent is one of his aims for the station.

His show ‘The Jungle’ already provided local bands a platform and this feature has been a great success. Paul told the Leader that the station is totally dedicated to up and coming bands.

He said: “I have been with the station since the start last year and I then became manager. We have built up a core audience of over 2,000 listeners, many ex-pats listening online. They like to hear a local voice and what’s going on in their town.

“It is a community station, not for profit, and our aim is to give local bands the opportunity to showcase their music.

“There are plenty of radio stations playing the big international groups but we are a local community station and we are dedicated to local unknown bands, giving them the opportunity to get their music out to a wide audience. The station is dedicated as a whole to showcasing local music and we would love local bands to send us their music for us to play.”

The station has been on the air since 2015 and will continue to broadcast from Newry Street, in the E2A premises.

E2A is a registered charity, which welcomes people of all ages both with and without a disability.
