New-Bridge pupils score top results in GCSEs

NEW-BRIDGE principal Gerry Jones said he was delighted with the performance of the school's GCSE pupils this year.

“Once again the College is delighted at the high level of achievement of our pupils in their GCSE examinations,” said Mr Jones.

“Over 70 per cent of our Year 12 pupils have achieved 5 or more GCSE grades A* - C ; significantly above the Northern Ireland average for non selective schools which is currently at 54 per cent.

“As an all-ability school we maintain the ethos that each individual can achieve their full academic potential, and in many cases beyond that expectation. This is bourne out by the GCSE results for this year’s cohort of pupils.

“In recent years the College has continued to expand and increase the range of courses on offer at KS4 and we are particularly pleased with results gained in new courses run in collaboration with the Southern Regional College.

“The majority of our pupils will continue their education at the College in Sixth Form and I would like to take the opportunity to congratulate them on their success.

“I would like to thank the dedicated staff at the College for their hard work and commitment in helping the pupils to obtain these outstanding results.”
