“Mill Strand Integrated will get a new, state of the art, building and it is hoped that this could be ready as early as 2020.

“Officers from the Department of Education and governors of the school are exploring a range of potential sites in the Portrush area as part of the planning and feasibility study process.

“In the interim, the school has submitted two Development Proposals to allow the only integrated primary school and nursery to meet demand for integrated education and become a two class Nursery and two class intake school. The school is also working to source a new suite of classrooms for its current site on the coast road, overlooking West Bay in Portrush to cater for additional pupils pending the completion of its new build.

“In advance of the new build, governors at Mill Strand Integrated Primary School have guaranteed at least 50 Nursery and Pre School places commencing September 2017 and is planning for a Year 1, two class intake of up to 60 pupils.

“Anyone interested in integrated education or obtaining a place should contact the school on 02870823090 to arrange a visit. Alternatively visit the school’s web site www.millstrand.co.uk”
