New Causeway Centre

Rev Dr Robert Coulter, the Ulster Unionist Party Assembly member for North Antrim and UUP Stormont Commissioner, has welcomed the news that work is to start on the proposed new visitors' centre at the Giant's Causeway.

Rev Coulter was speaking after attending a special launch at Hillsborough Castle to unveil details of the new centre.

He explained: “At long last, we will see movement on building the new much-needed visitors’ centre for the Giant’s Causeway, which – in tourist terms – has become the unofficial Eighth Wonder of the World.

“The Causeway and the surrounding area already provide a tremendous economic boost for the constituency.

“Once the new visitors’ centre comes on line, the prospects to radically develop North Antrim’s entire tourism trade will be greatly enhanced.

“I was at the first meeting when the new visitors’ centre was discussed. It has been a long time coming, but the recent meeting at Hillsborough Castle was very worthwhile.

“I am also thoroughly looking forward to seeing the plans become a reality. I especially look forward to knowing that the new centre will greatly benefit virtually every sector of work in the constituency,” said Rev Dr Coulter.
