“I hope everyone will come and enjoy the ‘Big Christmas Light Switch On’ celebrations throughout the Borough.

“This year will be a special year being the first year the new Christmas Lights will be installed. I’d like to thank Ballymoney Borough Council for their advice and support. Having successfully upgraded their own lighting last year, Coleraine Borough Council was inspired by the fantastic impact the upgrade had for both residents and retailers.

“This upgrade will not only enhance the reputation of the Borough, but will provide lower running costs and less ongoing maintenance costs. The new lighting displays are all powered by LED light technology which reduces electricity consumption and bulb replacement costs complying with Council’s Energy Management Strategy.

“The new lights are aimed at enhancing everyone’s Christmas experience in the Borough. New lighting motifs and banners along the pedestrian walkway at the Bann Bridge have been installed to connect both sides of the River Bann. This will provide residents and visitors the opportunity to take a stroll throughout the town centre and across the river while enjoying the new lighting experience.
