New classes in memory of Heaney at Town Hall event

The speech and drama classes at Carrickfergus Music Festival concluded last week.

Results from Monday April 28 include:

Boys and girls age 7: 1st Rhys McManus, 86; 2nd Luke McAllister, 85; 3rd Noah Waugh, 84. Prose reading, 8 and 9 years: Andrew Nelson, 88.

Boys and girls, age 7 years: 1st Anna Gordon, 86; 2nd Julia McGrogan, 85; 3rd Niamh McWilliams and Olivia McDermott, 84. Boys and girls, primary 1: 1st Brooke Savage, 86; 2nd Leah Haighton, 85; 3rd Edith McFall, 84.

This year, the speech and drama section of the festival also included two new classes in memory of the late poet Seamus Heaney. There were no drama entries for the 2014 event.
