New coffee shop brewing in Cookstown

POPULAR independent coffee chain Ground Espresso is to open a branch in Cookstown with the creation of around 10 to 12 jobs, the MAIL can reveal.

It’s understood that Ground Espresso will move into the unit beside McAtamney’s Butcher in James Street.

A spokesperson for the chain, which is very much community based, said they are delighted to be a new face in Cookstown.

Management also hope to expand the chain throughout Mid-Ulster once the Cookstown branch establishes itself.

Ground Espresso currently has outlets in Ballymena, Belfast (Waterstones), Ballymoney, Coleraine and Portrush.

The jobs boost for the town follows last week’s announcement that Asda is to create 30 new jobs through its ‘Click and Collect’ online shopping service.
