New committee for Mosside WI in 60th year

President, Beth Lindsay, gave a very warm welcome to all especially visiting Executive Member, Mrs Marlene Walsh, who chaired the meeting.

New committee members are Beth Lindsay, Elaine McConaghie, Lena McKeeman, Margaret McMillan, Janette McQuitty, Dorothy Moore, Doreen Patton and Kathleen Taggart. Voting then took place for President for Mosside WI as they celebrate their 60th Anniversary. Margaret McMillan was elected and received the President’s Chain of Office from Mrs Walsh.

Mrs Walsh judged the Baking and Craft Competitions: Ruby Anniversary Vase (Baking) Elaine McConaghie. Craft Cup Eileen White. Jubilee Cup Eileen White. Anne Logan Friendship Trophy Eileen White. Dalriada Vase June Simpson Margaret McMillan Trophy (full attendance) Kathleen McConaghie. The Annie Todd Crystal Bowl Eileen White. Doreen Patton Gaston Trophy Margaret McMillan. Margaret McMillan thanked Mrs Walsh for conducting the AGM and handed over a floral gift. She also thanked the tea hostesses, Ruth McQuitty and Cherril Blair, for a lovely supper.

The next meeting will be held on 14 October in Toberdoney Presbyterian Church Hall at 8.00pm. The speaker, Charles Cole, will speak about his Broughammon Goat Farm. Any ladies in the community interested in hearing this speaker would be very welcome to come along.
