New date for annual parade in the town

Craigavon Protestant Boys Flute Band on parade last year as they celebrated 50 years on the road.

A spokesman for CPBFB said: “Due to a number of external factors, of which the band have no control over, and with the permission of Dollingstown Star of the North Flute Band, this year Craigavon Protestant Boys will be holding our annual Parade on Friday, April 28 (the last Friday in April).

“This new date is the week prior to the band’s usual annual parade through the town of Lurgan.”

He said they appreciate that this change of date may pose problems for a number of bands but added those affected had been asked to get in touch with them through their facebook page or members of Craigavon Protestant Boys.

The band will also be holding an Indoor event on Saturday, March 25, and they would be keen to accommodate any band effected by this change.

The spokesman added: “We hope to see you all there, and would like to thank local band Dollingstown Star of the North Flute Band for allowing the band to use this date.”

The Dollingstown Star of the North parade scheduled for April 28 has been called off but the band hopes to be back next year.
