New deacon coming to Castledawson and Magherafelt parish

Mr Kevin Duffy, a native of Clonoe, has been appointed by Cardinal Brady to the parishes of Castledawson and Magherafelt.

A Permanent Deacon, he will speak at all Masses over the summer to help introduce himself to parishioners. Kevin will then be appointed in the Cathedral at Armagh on Sunday, September 14.

Open day

There will be a Castledawson Community Allotment Open Day held this Saturday, August 2. Other highlights will be a car boot sale, barbecue, craft stalls, and music. Taking place at Riverside from 4pm to 7pm, cost for the sale is £5 per car and £5 for table. Everyone is welcome.

Services will be conducted in the Presbyterian Church this Sunday at 12 noon and 6pm.

Aughrim Gospel Hall holds a remembrance service 11.30am and a gospel meeting from 6pm. Mass will be celebrated in Church of St Patrick at 9.30am on Sunday morning, also 7.30pm Tuesday and Thursday nights. There will be only one service in the parish church, this being Morning Prayer at 10.30am.
