New development is named

A new housing development at Lockhart's Lane in Carrick will be known as Lockhart's Park.

The name was agreed by the Operational Committee of Mid and East Antrim Borough Council and will become official when ratified at a full council meeting.

The development will comprise of 22 townhouses and 12 apartments.

Other proposed names were Old Meadows and Redwood.

The developer Ben Crowe and Son Ltd explained that it had considered the history of the area and indicated that the development will have a “landscape area with open space planted out with trees, as well as retaining the clusters or stand of trees along the development boundary”.

Lockhart’s Park will be accessed from Lockhart’s Lane. Council has a responsibility to name and erect street signage in new developments.
