New Director of Adult Services takes up post

BRENDAN Whittle has recently been appointed as Director of Adult Services with the South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust following the retirement of Desi Bannon. Brendan, who lives in the Lisburn area, is a qualified Social Worker and has over 20 years’ experience working in Health and Social Care.

He started his career working in London before moving to Northern Ireland in 1993. Brendan has held a number of senior positions in services for people with Disabilities, Older People and Primary Care.

He has led a range of reforms to modernise and improve the quality of services he has been responsible for.

As Director of Adult Services, Brendan has responsibility for services for adults with Learning Disability, Physical Disability, Sensory Impairment, Acquired Brain Injury, Mental Health Services and Prison Health Care across the three prisons in Northern Ireland. Brendan said: “I am delighted to be given the opportunity to further improve Health and Social Care Services for people within the South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust area.”
