In Coleraine, improvements at the Ring Road will see road widening at the A29 between the Lodge road roundabout and the Ballycastle road roundabout, providing two lanes in each direction. This proposal also includes the introduction of traffic signals at the Asda access and Newmills road junction.

And in Portsteward two additional disabled parking bays are to be located on the Promenade

Members attending the meeting, agreed on all of the improvements.

The DUPs Mark Fielding said that the additional disabled bays would be a ‘great benefit’ for the town. DUP councillor Trevor Clarke welcomed the Ring Road improvements stating that Council ‘has been lobbying for this work for a very long time.’
