New entrance feature welcomed

Facilitated by the EU PEACE III funded Building Relationships in Communities (bric) Programme, the area has now been enhanced with a purpose built wall and granite name plaque which was officially unveiled recently at a special ceremony.

Manor Park Community Association utilised the services of the bric Programme to help them put an identity feature in place following changes to Housing Executive budgets in the area.

The Programme is a unique partnership between the Rural Development Council, Housing Executive and Tides Training and is currently operating in almost 90 social housing areas across Northern Ireland as it aims to build and cultivate good relations across the province

Speaking at the event, Sandra Prince, Chairperson of Manor Park Community Association, said: “Our thanks are extended to the bric Programme for their support and guidance during our time on the project.

As part of its good relations focused work the bric Programme provides a range of services within the social housing sector including mentoring, mediation, re-imaging projects and study visits.

“The Good Relations and learning focus has been educational and rewarding and we look forward to continuing to use the skills and information we have learned from the programme.

“We are also hugely grateful for the bric Programme’s assistance in helping us visually enhance the area with the beautiful and eye-catching new entrance feature they have provided for us.”
