New facilities for Ballee & Harryville Health Centre receive approval

A DECISION by planners to approve the introduction of a pharmacy and optician at Ballee and Harryville Health Care centre has been welcomed by members of the council.

Planners approved the application to change the use of Ballee and Harryville Health Care Facility to incorporate a pharmacy, optician, physiotherapy and podiatristcare.

At Thursday night’s Public Sector Liaison Committee meeting, Councillor Beth Adger, Alderman Roy Gillespie and Councillor Davy Tweed all welcomed the decision.

The application also includes the assembly of monitored dose dispensing trays & preparation of oral liquid specials including lense grinding, polishing and frame assembly.

Responding to a question by Councillor Paul Frew, Senior planning officer Cathy McKeary confirmed that permission had been given provided the pharmacy is not for retail.
