New firefighters recruited
The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service has confirmed that some of its new intake of retained (on-call) firefighters will be stationed in Glengormley and Ballyclare.
The NIFRS has appointed 87 trainee retained firefighters to help protect the local community. They were selected from a recent recruitment drive which attracted more than 1,600 applicants.
On completion of training, two of the firefighters will join the team at Ballyclare station, with five others being stationed in Glengormley.
