New ‘Friends’ group for the High School

And, to kick start this new initiative, the Friends of Ballymoney High School have organised a fundraising table quiz for the Garryduff Road school.

The ‘Fun for All Table Quiz’ is being held in the School Assembly Hall tomorrow (Wednesday) 4th March at 7.30pm.

The cost is £2.50 per adult, £1.50 per child.

Teams up to six and prizes for first, second and third. Quiz Master will be Gerry McAleese and Compere will be Mr Davidson.

A spokesperson for the Friends said: “We are a group of people who are interested in supporting and promoting

all aspects of school life at Ballymoney High School.

“We are very keen to give something back to the school and help the staff to provide the best possible learning experiences for pupils. All of us have links with the school.

“We are parents, past pupils, staff and members of the local community who have got together to begin this group.

“The purpose of the group is to promote the vision and aims of Ballymoney High School, to support the school in providing excellent provision and learning experiences for pupils and to build relationships among all people involved in the school and the wider community.

“How do we hope to fulfil these aims? By raising funds to help the school provide resources and extras for our pupils, by running social events for parents, children and members of the wider community, by establishing and developing further links between the school and the local community.

“We also aim to have strong links with the School Council in all the work we do.”

The newly formed Friends group is looking for more members.
