Married to Victoria (née Hagan), another past pupil of LGS, Mr Logan has a son Andrew and daughter Gillian who also both attended Larne Grammar.

A former deputy director (vice-principal) of the East Antrim Institute of Further and Higher Education, now part of the Northern Regional College, Mr Logan has over 37 years’ experience in education, both as a teacher of English, communication and history in Larne College of Further Education and a college leader in EAIFHE, which had campuses at Felden Training Centre, and the Newtownabbey and Larne Colleges. Latterly he was also a policy advisor with the former Learning and Skills Development Agency (LSDAni), where he was responsible for advising the Department for Employment and Learning on issues affecting the further education sector. Mr Logan is now retired from teaching (early, he would hasten to add!) and enjoys reading, travel and watching sport.

As a former governor of the Moyle Primary School and Larne High School, Mr Logan brings a wealth of experience to the governing body of Larne Grammar, which he was appointed to as a NEELB representative in 2010. He has also just been appointed a trustee of the Grammar School.

“I am keen to utilise the experience I gained in education to assist my fellow governors, the principal and senior staff, the teaching and support staff of Larne Grammar School to maintain and extend its long-standing reputation in the local community for excellence in teaching and learning. The pupils of the school are our collective first priority.”

Principal, Jonathan Wylie, welcomed Mr Logan’s appointment. “The chair of the Board of Governors holds a key leadership position within the school and Mr Logan brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the role. I look forward to working closely with him for the benefit of the pupils of Larne Grammar School. I would like to place on record my thanks to Rev McClure for his commitment and dedication during his term of office.”
