New Head Chef at Beetles in Portrush

THERE'S a new man behind the pass at Beetles in Portrush.

Eddie McGarvey is the new Head Chef, and he’s hoping he can put his own touch on the new menu at the popular Portrush restaurant.

“I’m originally from Scotland,” said Eddie.

“I came over here 12 years ago, and since then I have worked in many top restaurants - The Bushmills Inn, The Hedges and 1608.”

Eddie has already added a few new specials to the menu at Beetles.

This Wednesday, a new menu will be unveiled and Eddie has used the Atlantic Ocean as his inspiration.

A new bistro and lunch time menu will come into effect and Eddie is promising a selection that offers great tasting food at reasonable prices.

“I love fish, and I will be including plenty of fish dishes on the new menu.

“We are so close to the ocean here, so I am using it as inspiration in my menu.

“Of course there will also be plenty of chicken, steak and vegetarian dishes for diners to choose from.

“Already the team here at Beetles have been cooking scallops and monkfish, and they are going down a treat with the customers,” added Eddie.

Don’t forget Father’s Day on Sunday, June 20.
