New jobs created

Forty jobs have been created at Belfast International Airport by the aviation security company ICTS.

The company says the full-time posts should generate £650,000 in wages.

An airport spokesman said the new jobs were the first to flow from the planned arrival of Ryanair and the increase in seat capacity by existing airlines, easyJet, Jet2, United and Wizz.

ICTS says the additional employees will bring to 250 the size of its workforce at Belfast International Airport.

The company’s Jim Finegan said: “It’s wonderful to be on a recruitment drive.

“Growth at the airport means greater demand for our professional aviation security services.

“It’s a win-win for all.

“ICTS have been at the airport since 2000 and this is easily the most exciting period of growth we have seen.”
