New legal high legislation set to come into force soon

The new Psychoactive Substances Act is set to come into force on Wednesday April 6.

The legislation will prohibit the production, supply and importation of legal highs.

During a Stormont question and answer session with Justice Minister David Ford last week, East Antrim MLA Roy Beggs said that young people in Larne who bought legal highs had been “involved in shoplifting to fund the exercise and often came into Larne from other locations using public transport.”
