New Life in Dervock

On Sunday, February 17 at 8pm, Mrs Amy Roberts, the well known gospel singer from Lisburn will be the guest of the evening.

After a very successful career in cabaret singing, Amy’s life spiralled downward into a dark valley of alcohol addiction. That was to change through a vital encounter with the risen Saviour, one Easter Sunday, at a service in Lisburn Cathedral.

Her unique gift for singing put her back on the road, with a new message. Now it is the song of salvation in Jesus Christ. Everyone is invited to come and hear Amy sing and tell her story. Past or W Dempster will conclude the service.

This event will be followed by a vibrant outreach in the month of March. Rev Eric Stewart from Portrush will be coming at the invitation of the congregation of the mission hall, to conduct a three week New Life Campaign.

The campaign will be launched with a praise rally on Saturday evening March 2 at 7.30pm.

It will be an evening of gospel sang and music followed by supper.

The keynote singer of the evening will be Annita McDonnell who is flying over from Fraserburgh for this event. She will be accompanied by other gifted singers from the Province.

The New Life mission commences officially on Sunday, March 3 at 8pm and continues every weeknight at the same time. Annita is the guest soloist throughout the first week. She was first brought to Northern Ireland by Rev Stewart and is now a regular visitor at events throughout the country. It will be her first time to visit Dervock.

Rev Stewart is no stranger to the North coast, and is probably best known through the Portrush Drive-In services, which he conducts each summer. His weekly radio programme on Radio North has been on air for 13 years. It is heard throughout the land and also overseas via the internet. He has been an evangelist at home and abroad. He conducted successful pastoral ministries in Bangor and Coleraine, as well as being a Bible college principle from 1980 to 1990.

These events are for everyone, regardless of religious background and there will be warm welcome at the door.
