New lobby demands street signs in Irish

UNIONIST-controlled Larne Borough Council may be asked to assent to street signs written in English and Irish.

Requests for dual-language signage have been submitted for nearly a dozen locations in Carnlough, Glenarm and the Seacourt estate.

The council has confirmed receipt of the applications and said: "Guidance on the procedures for making applications for street signage is being provided by council officers in response to these written requests."
