New Manchester/Paris route opens

LOW cast carrier Flybe’s commercial boss says the airline is delighted it is now operating its new summer route from UK’s City of Culture 2013 to one of England’s most vibrant and cosmopolitan centres of shopping, Manchester.

The new Londonderry to Manchester service now operates five days a week and flights will run through to September 25, 2011.

Mike Rutter, Flybe’s Chief Commercial Officer said: “We’re delighted to be adding this service to Manchester from the City of Derry which demonstrates our commitment to bringing convenient, affordable travel to passengers throughout the UK.

“As Derry prepares and builds towards its very exciting City of Culture status in 2013, this route will be an added bonus towards bringing both leisure and business passengers directly into the City.

“The link to Manchester also opens up the opportunity to fly on to Paris Charles de Gaulle through Flybe’s connections and with codeshare partner Air France.

“This not only gives easy access to a popular European city but also enables onward travel to an extensive selection of worldwide destinations.”

With a flight time of 65 minutes, departures from the City of Derry Airport will leave at 12.50pm on Monday, Thursday and Friday and 11.35am on Saturday and 16.20pm on Sunday.

One way fares, including taxes and charges, are from £24.99 and are available for booking now at www.flybe.com.
