New mayor and deputy chosen at AGM

Members of Carrickfergus Borough Council have chosen the Mayor and Deputy Mayor for the coming year at the local authority’s Annual General Meeting.

DUP Alderman Billy Ashe was re-elected as first citizen, while UUP representative John Stewart is the new deputy.

Councillors also voted to fill the chair and vice-chair positions within the Chief Executive’s Office and the Support, Development, Environmental and Building Services committees at the meeting in Carrick Town Hall.
